Events in Bohinj
Bohinj is the location of various year-round events suitable for all generations. Tourists with a taste for tradition can enjoy the Ethno Weekend (nocturnal visits to one's sweethearts called “vasovanje” and a Rural Weeding), the Cow’s Ball in Ukanec held in autumn, Evenings under the linden tree and Active vacations in the countryside.
Music Events and Themed Festivals
Music enthusiasts cannot miss the classically themed Music Summer in Bohinj and Kanal Music Festival featuring a varied selection of artists. You are also most welcome to visit the Tuesday Music Evenings in Stara Fužina and a number of individual music events accommodating different types of audience.
Spectacular Midsummer Night at the Bohinj Lake goes hand in hand with Traditional Christmas and New Year Events held at the Danica Hall in Bohinjska Bistrica.
Interesting themed festivals extending over several days: International Wild Flowers Festival, Hiking Festival and Fishing Festival and International Fly Tying Meeting.
Events for Children
Events, which are primarily held for children, are the Goldenhorn Fairytale Land in Ukanc taking place in the spring time (a two-day event held in the scope of the International Wild Flower Festival), Children’s Summer Festival (BO FEjST) and Winter Festival and Mardi Gras Activities for Children (BO brrr FEjST) and Friday Afternoon in the Triglav National Park. In addition, interesting and educational workshops are held during the festivals.
Sports Events
Sport enthusiasts will without any doubt be drawn by one of the following sports events: The Four Courageous Men’s Run around the Bohinj Lake, Triathlon of the Steelpeople, the FIS Telemark World’s Cup, Biathlon World Cup in Pokljuka, the funny Eurosank and numerous other attractive events.
